The Supplement Boom.
The legacy vitamin brands don't run this category anymore.
Challenger brands do, and a shopper who reads the whole label.
Here's the 2026 data on what's growing and what's selling.
Supplements are the fastest-moving corner of CPG. They're also the most crowded. This is a 10-minute read for sellers and operators who want to know where the growth actually is, which segments are heating up, and what shoppers care about.
Numbers are sourced from public 2024–2026 research (Nutrition Business Journal, Grand View Research, SPINS, Circana, Statista, and Amazon category reports). Projections are flagged where used.

The biggest segments.
Share of global supplement revenue by segment, 2025. Vitamins are still the biggest. But sports nutrition and weight management are where most of the growth is coming from in 2026.
Protein and creatine are the whole story here. Creatine alone is up 3× on Amazon since 2023.
Muscle-preservation stacks, electrolytes and protein sold as 'GLP-1 support.' This sub-category did not exist three years ago.
For most challenger brands Amazon is now the single biggest sales channel. Bigger than your Shopify store.
Top sub-categories.
YoY US retail + Amazon revenue growth, 2024 to 2025. These are growth rates, not category size. This is where many new brands are.
Breakout · Creatine"Creatine is the new protein. Bodybuilder shelf to Sephora energy in 24 months. And gummies are the format doing it."
Breakout · GLP-1 companion"13% of US adults have taken a GLP-1. Every single one of them is now a supplement customer. Protein, electrolytes, muscle support, hair."
What people care about most.
Share of US supplement shoppers who call the attribute "important" or "very important" when they pick a brand. The top three are all trust signals. Price lands 7th, at 47%. If your listing leads with price, it's leading with the weakest thing on the list.
The ingredient panel is the #1 thing they look at on your listing. Ahead of reviews. Ahead of price.
A Certificate of Analysis or an NSF / Informed Sport mark, versus the exact same listing without one. Same product. Different conversion rate.
Shoppers expect per-ingredient milligram doses now. A blend reads as hiding something.
Amazon is still the main store.
US channel share of supplement revenue, 2025. Amazon is now the single largest supplement retailer in America at 39%. For most challenger brands under $30M it's more than half of DTC revenue.
TikTok teaches. Amazon closes.
How US shoppers say they first heard about a supplement brand they actually bought in the last 12 months. Multi-select, so most people name 2+ sources. The video sells them. The Amazon listing takes their money.
Top global markets.
Top markets by share of global supplement revenue, 2025, with YoY growth. India (+18%), Southeast Asia (+16%) and Brazil (+14%) are growing roughly 2× the US rate, against a fraction of the shelf competition.

People care about verified testing. There's opportunity there.
Shelf space at Whole Foods and GNC used to be the hard part. It isn't anymore.
Now the hard part is a product a shopper trusts on the first scroll. Clinically dosed. Third-party tested. Nothing hiding behind a "proprietary blend." 71% of shoppers want third-party testing. 61% distrust blends.
Amazon is where most sales happen. 39% of US supplement revenue, and the place many TikTok videos direct to.
The market is big. And growing fast. Recommendation: make sure to get tested with one of the 2 most top-tier testing labs, either NSF or Eurofins. Then, show the actual results certificate on your Amazon listing, website and socials. Shoppers are now aware that some brands got exposed as having inaccurate results (largely due to viral social media videos) – so this is now a must – AND, also a way to get an edge.
